Outreach Ministries

Community of Hope Garden is associated with the Adams County Community Gardens CO-OP and  coordinated through the RSVP Department of the Senior Hub. Keep Thornton Beautiful provides funding to help establish the gardens. Produce grown is given to local food banks and parishioners. In 2018, the Garden produced 3594 servings of healthy, fresh vegetables.

Growing Home is an ecumenical program in which we join with other churches to feed and house homeless families as they strive to get back on their feet. We also collect food in the Fall and gifts for families every Christmas. Quilts from the Quilt group are given to the families in the program. 

United Thank Offering (UTO) encourages daily prayer, offerings, and awareness of the abundance of God's blessings. Funds raised support grants for ministries both at home and overseas.

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is a 53 year “young” education and fundraising initiative that gives U.S. kids, along with their parents and teachers, the opportunity to learn about children worldwide who are truly in need and to raise money on their behalf.  

St. Francis Center is an Episcopal Jubilee Center providing services and support for homeless people. We support them by collecting clothing and money throughout the year.

Amiguitos  An ecumenical organization performing community development projects in vulnerable neighborhoods of Veracruz, Mexico. Intercession provides support through sponsoring students, providing medical supplies, and sending volunteers to Veracruz to work on infrastructure projects. Click to get more info and trip dates. 

West Adams County Crop Walk is an annual fundraiser that supports Church World Services projects to alleviate poverty globally and locally. The local funds frequently support Growing Home as well as local food banks. Intercession members have participated annually for over 25 years.

Loaves & Fishes is a yearly in-gathering of non-perishable items that provides food for community members in need.
