As parents you want to give your children the best opportunities to grow in their love of God and others. At Intercession, we believe our Godly Play curriculum, based on Montessori principles, offers a loving, caring environment incorporating the best elements of wonder and play for your children. We provide a weekly Sunday School experience utilizing the Godly Play curriculum, for both our 9:30 English and 10:30 Spanish services on Sunday mornings. Whether your children speak English, Spanish, or are bi-lingual, you can be assured that our program will help them grow in their walk with Christ. We have six faithful workers acting as story tellers and door keepers each Sunday. Our teachers meet frequently to plan schedules and to learn more stories. Our teachers have all received the diocesan training, Safeguarding God’s Children.

Godly Play is a program for children’s faith formation. The curriculum includes core stories from both Old and New Testaments, stories of characters of the Bible, Parables, and liturgical action. The materials for telling the stories are meant to be attractive and sturdy for children to handle themselves. Our classroom is fully supplied with material for more than sixty stories.

Godly Play has a spiral schedule for the stories, much as the lectionary for Scripture in our services cycles through every three years. As the children see and hear the stories year after year their imaginings, questions and understandings grow deeper.

Godly Play is also part of outreach ministry for Intercession Church. We provide a weekly chapel program for our Footprints Preschool.
